FAMILY TYPES

HERE ARE 6 DIFFERENT FAMILY TYPES AND THEIR UNIQUE FAMILY DYNAMICS:

NUCLEAR FAMILY

Nuclear families, also known as the most traditional family type, consisting of two parents and their children.  Nuclear families may have one or more children who are biological or adopted, but the main idea is that the parents are raising their kids together in the family home.

SINGLE PARENT

Single parent families consist of one parent with one or more kids. 

EXTENDED FAMILY

Most people would agree that nuclear families are the most traditional family type.  However in different cultures, extended families are on the rise and becoming much more common, considering some have been around for hundreds of years. Extended families are families with two or more adults who are related through blood or marriage, usually along with children. 

CHILDLESS FAMILY

Childless families are families with two parents who cannot or choose not to have kids.  In the world today, these families are often forgotten or left out. 

BLENDED FAMILY

A blended family is the merging of two separate families.  This family type can be presented in several different ways, for example, two divorced parents with kids blending families, or one divorced parent with kids marrying someone who has never been married, having no kids. 

GRANDPARENT FAMILY

A grandparent family is the least most common family type. However amongst different ethic groups, this family type is increasing.  This family type consists of one or more grandparent that is raising their grandkid(s).  Census data indicates that in the United States, over 2.3 million grandparents are raising children.

Awesome! It’s important for you to realize the unique position of being single & looking.  This unique position is what Team Byrd would like to call the power position.  Think about it, first you have the power of now.  Right now you can begin to form, using your imagination with great detail Mr. or Mrs. right!  Secondly, this position allows you to reflect on who you are, and who you would like to become as a spouse.

SINGLE & DATING

Single & dating is a stage of romantic relationships in humans whereby two people meet socially with the aim of each assessing the other’s suitability as a prospective partner.  It’s important to note that your ability to assess the suitability of a life partner is closely linked to your ability of knowing yourself. A quote to ponder, “To manifest your heart's desires you must BE what your heart desires.” 

SINGLE & ENGAGED

Congratulations!  You’re on the cusp of starting the greatest entity in the known land...a family. Throughout the world and the ages of time individuals married and were given into marriage. Still today across cultures and societies, there's a strong attraction to not only procreate but to commit.  Your engagement is bigger than you. Your engagement is a witness to humanity, a silent proclamation to the world that relationships matter.
